Filksings and meetings
We get together, usually every month, to make music. Come to sing or just listen. Newcomers are always welcome. Singing ability isn't required, but if you come you might discover you have more than you think. If not, it doesn't matter. Enjoying the songs and company is what matters.
Every month, we have a filksing and brief business meeting somewhere in the greater Massachusetts area. That translates to anywhere within 2.5 hours of Boston. Most often we meet on a Saturday or Sunday at a member's home. People can start arriving in mid-afternoon and stay late into the evening. Dinner plans vary. Most often the host provides a main course, and guests bring side dishes, snacks, and soft drinks. One way or another, there will be snacks and food.
We usually set meeting locations, dates, and times two months in advance. If you would like to volunteer to host a filksing, please email us, removing the obvious spamtrap. We send out directions to each filksing to everyone on our mailing list. If you'd like to join the mailing list or get directions to a specific meeting, please contact us.
Unless specified otherwise, people can start arriving at the filksing at 2 PM, and there will be a (usually brief) business meeting at 6 PM. Dinner may be before or after the business meeting.

Almost all our get-togethers have been in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, with a few in Rhode Island. The schedule is sometimes different in January and February because there's lots of filk activity at the two major Boston area science fiction conventions, Arisia and Boskone. Sometimes we skip housefilks during those months, but lately we've sometimes held them a week or two after the cons, to encourage people who've just discovered us to drop in.
